These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Retro Space Cat website and services (the “Service”), run by Retro Space Cat (“we”, “us”, “our”). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. If you have any questions, email us at stardust@retrospacecat.com.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any of these Terms, you may not use or access the Service.

2. Who can play

The Service is intended for people aged 18 and over. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or over.

3. Your account

You sign in with your email address: we email you a sign-in link, and there is no password. You agree to give a genuine email address that belongs to you and to keep access to it secure, as anyone who can open your email can sign in to your account. You are responsible for activity on your account.

Each person may have one account.

4. Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

5. Stardust

Stardust is a just-for-fun collectable that you earn by playing. It is not money, a currency, a cryptocurrency or an investment. Stardust has no monetary value, and it cannot be bought, sold, exchanged, transferred to another person or redeemed for cash, goods or services, inside or outside the Service.

We may change how Stardust is earned and how much each activity gives, at any time and at our discretion. We may also correct balances that are wrong because of a fault, and remove Stardust gained by breaking these Terms. We may modify, suspend or end Stardust at any time.

6. Moonstones and the shop

You earn Moonstones as you collect Stardust. Moonstones can only be spent in the Retro Space Cat shop, on cosmetic items such as outfits, accessories, rocket colours, badges and titles. Like Stardust, Moonstones have no monetary value and cannot be bought with real money, sold, exchanged, transferred or redeemed.

Items in the shop are for fun and give no advantage in the game. Purchases cannot be undone or refunded. We may change, add or remove shop items and prices at any time.

7. Weekly leaderboard and medals

Each week, the top three players on the weekly leaderboard win a permanent medal and bonus Stardust, and the players placed 4th to 10th win bonus Stardust, as described on the How Stardust works page. Prizes have no monetary value. We may withhold or remove a medal or prize won by breaking these Terms. Our decision on prizes is final.

8. Fair play

You agree not to:

  • use more than one account, or share an account;
  • use bots, scripts or any automated means to play, claim or access the Service;
  • exploit bugs or faults (please report them to us instead);
  • interfere with, disrupt or try to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other players’ accounts.

If we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, we may remove Stardust, Moonstones, items or medals, reset your progress, or suspend or close your account.

9. Usernames and public information

You can choose a username. It must not be offensive, misleading or impersonate anyone else, and we may change or remove a username at any time. Your username (or, without one, your player ID) appears publicly on leaderboards and on your public profile, together with your Space Cat, Stardust earned, rank, streaks and medals. Your email address is never shown.

10. Emails

We send sign-in links when you ask for them. Once you have registered, we may also send daily email reminders, which may include updates on new features or other information related to Retro Space Cat. You can unsubscribe from reminders at any time using the link in the emails.

We will never share or sell your email address to third parties for their marketing.

11. Advertising

The Service is free to use and is supported by advertising. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising uses cookies and how to manage your choices.

12. User Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Service in any way that violates any applicable laws or regulations.

13. Intellectual Property

All content included on the Retro Space Cat website, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, pixel art, data compilations and software, is the property of Retro Space Cat or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright laws. You may share your own Space Cat card image for personal, non-commercial use.

14. The Service

The Service is provided free, “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend or stop all or part of the Service at any time, and we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.

15. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Retro Space Cat or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

16. Changes to Terms

We may change these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and change the date at the top. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

17. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
